Hyderabad – The City Of Nawabs

The city of smiles, of lights, of a thousand faces, admiringly called the Pearl City, Hyderabad offers diversified tourist interests starting from Heritage monuments, Lakes and Parks, Gardens and Resorts, Museums to heavenly cuisine and an amusing shopping experience. To the traveller, Hyderabad offers a charming panorama of the past, which is richly blended with cultural and historical tradition, extending 400 colourful years. Charminar

The Charminar is as much the trademark of Hyderabad as the Eiffel Tower is of Paris. It is said to be built as a charm to ward off a deadly rampant disease raging at that time. It has 45 prayer spaces and a mosque in it. Tourists can view the architectural magnificence inside the charminar. The place has become the Global icon of Hyderabad, listed among one of the most identified monuments of India.

Golconda Fort

Golconda is one of the popular forts of India.“Golla Konda” is the name from where the name of Golconda was derived. Hussain Sagar

One of the biggest man made lakes is at Hyderabad and the uniqueness about Hussain Sagar is that it connects the twin cities, that is Hyderabad and Secunderabad. A famous monument of Lord Buddha is situated at the center of the lake. It is also known as the Tank Bund, an important spot for tourist visits. It also has many water sports and boat rides, as well as the Yachting and Sailing clubs at the lake are active and draws a good number of sports persons from all around the country.

Nizam Museum

It is a museum located in Hyderabad at Purani Haveli, a palace of the Nizams. The museum has a collection mainly of souvenirs, giveaways and mementos presented by dignitaries to the last Nizam on the occasion of silver jubilee celebration in 1936. The museum was opened on 18 February 2000 by the Nizam Trust for the general public.

Osman Sagar

Osman Sagar also known as Gandipet, is a reservoir in the city of Hyderabad. It is a famous tourist spot, especially after the rainy season when the reserve is loaded. Its amusement park, resorts and parks are the main attraction. This lake use to serve as a source of drinking water for the city, but, due to boost in population, it wasn’t enough. Now it is used as public amusement centre. There are many more places to visit in Hyderabad once you start exploring.
