Thuppaki is A. R. Murugadoss’ directorial venture that was later remade by him in Hindi as Holiday. A remake of the hit Rajkumar Hirani Hindi directorial 3 Idiots, Nanban is a rollercoaster of a film starring Vijay. In the Tamil film, Vijay can be seen playing the role that was played by Amir Khan in its Hindi counterpart. Similar to its Hindi original, Nanban follows the story of two friends who set out on a journey to find their third friend who disappeared after completing their engineering course.
